Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about GLP Journey.

No. GLP Journey is a nutrition decision-support tool — not a medical device, and not a substitute for your doctor or dietitian. Our AI-powered guidance is based on general nutrition research and commonly reported GLP-1 experiences, but it doesn't know your full medical history. Always follow your prescriber's recommendations, especially around medication timing, dosage, and dietary restrictions specific to your condition.

GLP Journey's AI Chat Coach draws on general nutrition science and widely reported dietary experiences from the GLP-1 community. It uses this information to help you make better food choices — not to diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical guidance. Think of it as a knowledgeable companion, not a clinician.

Yes. Your food logs, photos, and health information are yours. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or provide it to insurance companies or employers. Your data is stored securely on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Food photos and chat messages are processed by Azure OpenAI to generate nutrition guidance — this data is not used to train AI models and is handled under Microsoft's enterprise data protection policies. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

No. We have no relationships with insurance providers, employers, or healthcare systems. Your GLP Journey data is never shared with any third party for profiling, underwriting, or employment purposes.

GLP Journey helps you figure out what to eat while on GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Zepbound. Log a meal (or snap a photo), and the app scores it across four tiers — Safe to eat, Use caution, High risk, and Do not eat — based on how well it fits a GLP-1-friendly diet. You also get access to an AI Chat Coach for real-time nutrition questions and a dashboard to track your patterns over time.

Yes. GLP Journey is designed for anyone taking a GLP-1 receptor agonist medication, regardless of brand or dosage. The dietary guidance focuses on the common nutritional challenges shared across GLP-1 medications — things like managing reduced appetite, avoiding foods that trigger nausea, and making sure you're getting adequate protein and nutrients despite eating less.

No. GLP Journey works best when you use it consistently, but it's not an all-or-nothing calorie tracker. Even logging a few meals a week helps you learn which foods work for you and which ones don't. Many users start by logging the meals they're unsure about — "Can I eat this?" — and build the habit from there.

Those are general-purpose calorie and weight-loss trackers. They're great tools, but they weren't built for the specific challenges of being on GLP-1 medications — reduced appetite, food intolerances, nausea triggers, and the need to maximize nutrition from smaller portions. GLP Journey doesn't count calories. It scores your meals on how well they fit a GLP-1-friendly diet and gives you actionable guidance tailored to your medication experience.

GLP Journey offers a free tier with core meal logging. Premium features — including the AI Chat Coach and detailed reports — are available with a monthly or yearly subscription. Visit our Pricing page for current details.
